Between the mark of pencil and the gesture of colour, Claudia Loro has built a language entirely her own: the same searching precision that animates her charcoal drawings resurfaces, freer, in her paintings.

Due i protagonisti del suo lavoro, bambini e animali, scelti per un'affinità sorprendente: la stessa libertà, la stessa spontaneità. Ogni ritratto cerca l'essenza più che l'apparenza; lo sguardo fiero di una tigre può incontrare, a distanza, quello di un bambino indiano colto nel proprio ambiente, in un gesto quotidiano e vero.

Her work has two recurring subjects, children and animals, drawn together by a striking affinity: the same freedom, the same spontaneity. Each portrait seeks essence rather than appearance; the proud gaze of a tiger can meet, across the distance, that of an Indian child captured within their own surroundings, in a gesture both everyday and true.

Molti di questi volti arrivano dall'India, un paese che Claudia ha attraversato più volte, portando a casa ogni volta un poco della sua luce, della sua fierezza, delle sue contraddizioni, fino a farne parte del proprio linguaggio artistico.

Many of these faces come from India, a country Claudia has crossed many times, carrying home each time a little of its light, its pride, its contradictions, until they became part of her own artistic language.
